Update 4-27-2007
Met with the Glasscock's last night (4/26). They are excited about our church! The only problem they have is the fact that they've had such bad experiences at their previous two churches that they are a little "gun shy" of giving themselves emotionally to another. They say that our church seems "way too good to be true!" I told them to keep coming and let our people show them how true our church really is. They agreed! It is still early in the game, but I'm going to go ahead and call it, they are in! They are going out of town this weekend on a mini vacation but plan on getting really involved when they get back. They are extremely excited about how enthusiastic their kids are about church. They say that their kids can't wait for Sundays and Wednesdays. Good job Student Ministers! No need for other visits from the staff.

Updates for 04/10/2007
From Bro. D
I had an awesome visit with the Donovan's last night! Stayed over there about 3 hours talking about the church they came out of and of course our church. They are looking for a church home that will support them and encircle them and make them part of the family. I just smiled and said that's not a problem at CC! I believe they will make for some awesome workers in our church. They are going to just come and acclimate themselves into our church family and join later on. I told them I would do the same thing! They love our church and are excited about the fact that we (staff) already know all their names. Just freaks them out! They are also excited over the fact that we have a vision. We know where we're going and have a plan to get there.
From B J I had a visit this morning from Terry Ward who is one of our repeat visitors. He is so excited about our church and has talked so much about it that he has his nephew, who is a pastor, wanting to send some of his members over to observe one of our services. He said that he has never wanted to be in church before. He also told me that he leaves on Sunday and can hardly wait for Wednesday to get there. I asked him this morning if he felt like he has found a new church home. He told me that the only way he was leaving was that we would have to run him off. He is inquiring about the new day teams and wants to get involved. We went over the different teams and what they do and I think that he is going to talk to Donald or Dewey about hammer and nails. He said he is not too good with tools but he is a good gofer. I feel in my heart that we are about to see another harvest of new members in the next couple of Sundays.

Note From Bro. D on Tuesday April 3rd
I had a great visit with Wendy and Dustin Glasscock last night. They are really struggling spiritually, as in "drying up on the vine" at Indian Graves because of no worship and no atmosphere for worship. However, they love the people there and hate to leave, but know that it is necessary for their family. Real concerned about the teaching of our children and youth in how to worship and praise the Lord. I told them that was a concern for us as well and that we are teaching our children and youth this very thing. They also are concerned about having a church family that will be there for them in their times of trials. A church family that will surround them with prayer. I told them not a problem at CCBC! They are a very progressive family, wanting a very progressive church. Also told them, not a problem at CCBC. This Sunday will be their last Sunday at Indian Graves and then they will be coming to CCBC. They asked me last night about the procedure in joining our church. Get this now; they were both baptized in Baptist churches, Southern Baptist no less, and Indian Graves required them to be baptized again before they could join. Unbelievable! Anyway, we are going to start to see people by the multitudes coming out of their dead churches and into ours.
Had a great visit with the Hunts Sunday night. They are in! They are going to join in a few weeks. They don't want to just jump out of one church and immediately join in another. I understand! Kim came over and spent about 3 hours practicing the keyboard with Leslee last night. They love CCBC.
Margaret Donovan loves our church, and so do her kids. Her husband Michael is in Chattanooga on business and will hopefully return home this week and be in church with us on Sunday. They, like the Hunts and the Glasscocks are coming out of a dead church. I will visit with this family in their home as soon as Michael returns off his business trip.
I will be visiting with another family next Monday night. Can't remember their last names, but the mother's name is Patty. She has two sons in their twenties and they come with her every week. They are inquiring about joining the church.
If/when these families join we will have added 7 adults, 2 college & career, 5 children, and 3 youth to our membership. And they will bring more with them. It's happening! We are on our way guys, and girl.
Be sure to make a contact with these families over the next few days. IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT THE ENTIRE STAFF MAKE A CONTACT WITH ALL OUR VISTORS.
